The Short Version

FX Live 3 does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Your shows, audio files, and settings stay entirely on your device.

Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how FX Live 3 ("the App"), developed by Ian Fletcher ("we", "us", "our"), handles information when you use the App on iPad or Mac. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.

Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. The App does not:

  • Collect your name, email address, or any contact information
  • Track your location
  • Access your contacts, calendar, or photos without your explicit action
  • Use analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs
  • Send any data to external servers
  • Create user accounts or profiles

Data Storage

All data created and used by FX Live 3 is stored locally on your device:

  • Show files (.fxLive) — saved to the App's sandboxed documents folder on your device
  • Audio files — stored in the App's local documents directory
  • App settings & preferences — stored on-device using standard iOS/macOS user defaults
  • In-app purchase records — managed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we do not process or store any payment information

No data is uploaded to any cloud service by the App. If you choose to store files in iCloud Drive or another cloud service via the Files app, that is governed by Apple's (or the respective provider's) privacy policy, not ours.

Audio & Media Access

The App may request access to the following system resources. In every case, access requires your explicit permission and is used solely for the features described:

  • Microphone — only if you use the recording feature, to capture audio. Recordings are saved locally and are never transmitted.
  • Media Library (Apple Music) — only if you choose to import tracks from your iTunes/Apple Music library. The App reads audio data for local playback; no library information is collected or shared.
  • Files & Documents — to import and export show archives and audio files. All file access is initiated by you through system file pickers.

Network & MIDI

FX Live 3 supports MIDI connections (USB, Network MIDI, and Bluetooth LE) and external display output (HDMI and AirPlay). These features communicate only with the specific hardware or devices you connect to. No data is sent to the internet.

The App does not make any network requests except:

  • App Store — to verify and restore in-app purchases, handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework

Third-Party Services

FX Live 3 does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or social media SDKs. The only third-party interaction is with Apple's App Store for in-app purchase processing, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. There are no user accounts, no tracking, and no data transmission.

Data Sharing

We do not share any data with third parties. Since we collect no data, there is nothing to share, sell, or disclose.

Your Rights

Since FX Live 3 does not collect or store any personal data on our systems, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. All your data remains on your device under your full control. You can delete the App and all its data at any time by removing it from your device.

Changes to This Policy

If we make any changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we do not collect contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
